Florin, affectionately known as Flo or Flobo, is truly our superstar here at Baledwr and everything we strive for and could have ever wished for. Co-owned with her breeder, Cindy Munier McDonald, and our friend, Emily Fish, she exemplifies the perfect blend of structure, movement, and a keen working attitude.
At just seven months old, Flo made her mark in the show ring during the Richland Specialty weekend, earning her first AKC points and a 5-point major at the supported entry. She followed that with Best of Opposite Sex over specials at the Wenatchee Kennel Club Show, and later another 5-point major at the Cheyenne Kennel Club Show, finishing her AKC Championship with very limited showing – handled by a Junior and with some owner-handling along the way. Flo then went on to earn her Grand Championship just as quickly, adding Owner-Handled Group placements and, most recently, taking Select Bitch at the NWCWCF Specialty in November 2024. In 2023, she made multiple cuts in the Best Of Breed ring at the CWCCA National, and she was 2nd in Brood Bitch with her two young sons, Neville and Emmett.
Now partially retired from the show ring, Flo has proven herself just as exceptional in the whelping box. Her very first litter produced 2 group-placing AKC Champions/Grand Champions and another promising young male who just needs his majors to finish. All of her puppies are active in some type of sport, with nearly all earning performance titles in AKC or other venues – a true testament to her ability to pass on both form and function. We are thrilled to see where Flo will continue to shine and are excited to watch how her offspring carry on her remarkable legacy.
Flo’s versatility extends beyond sport and conformation. She has learned to be a medical alert dog and continues to actively compete in Scent Work, Obedience, and Rally. She also loves working with different 4-H juniors in showmanship, obedience, and even agility. Whether in the show ring, the performance arena, or the backyard, Flo embodies the intelligence, drive, and charisma that define the best of Baledwr.
