Pilot earned his "call name" in January 2008 when he took flying lessons, launching himself from a grooming table. After surgery on the broken elbow, Mandy took him home to Spokane for rehabilitation. He did not suffer any long-term ill effects from the injury.
Ever since then, Pilot remained with Mandy and quickly became her heart dog. At just under 2 years old Pilot finished his championship by going BOW and BOS over specials for a fourth major. From there on Pilot went out at a special and what a career he had! Other than many group placements and wins, his most impressive career include:
- 2018 CWCCA National - Best Of Breed/Best Veteran
- 2018 CWCCA Megan - Best Brindle Dog
- 2014 CCCC - Best Of Winners
- 2012 Westminster Kennel Club - Best Of Breed
- 2011 CWCCA - Award Of Merit
Pilot also dappled in Herding and other performance sports. We wish we would have gotten him out to herding trials more while he was younger as he showed huge promise and easily finished his HT title. At almost 16 years, Pilot is now retired and is enjoying his life on the couch.
Pilot is DM, PRA and Pink clear, Fluff Carrier, and has OFA Good hips. We do have limited frozen available to approved bitches.
